Five Dock

Newtown

Our brief here was to turn this junk filled, poorly accessed courtyard into a contemporary low maintenance entertaining space.

Timber screens and nature reed panels were erected to obtain privacy, the existing brickwork and new retaining walls were rendered and painted to complement the timber.

Additional outdoor storage space was created inside the hinged timber benches. To create modern clean lines, large format, pre sealed concrete pavers were laid in a 45 degree pattern.

The courtyard was completed with the planting of a row of architecturally stunning yuccas.

The owners living in this semi detached 1920s house wanted to update the front garden, renew both driveways and construct a new front fence that was in keeping with the existing architecture.

The existing concrete driveways were replaced with a heritage style clay paver laid in a 45 degree herringbone pattern.

The original house bricks were matched and a stunning front wall was built with sandstone capping and timber in fills.

The gardens were finished with a Sir Walter buffalo lawn and low maintenance hedging plants.

Working with our clients brief to turn this unattractive flood prone back yard into a modern entertainers delight.

We first of all cleaned and painted the existing fencing to create a neutral back drop. A stunning
wide board deck was then installed with a contemporary water feature installed as the centre piece.

A low maintenance garden with a resort style theme was installed using magnolia little gems that would eventually be pleached to form a screen above the fence line.

A mixture of variegated liriope and rhoeo were used for under planting with a hedge of large leafed viburnum installed as the backdrop for the water feature.
